Floyd County 4-H Fairgrounds:
The Floyd County Fair dates back to 1858 and was held where Fairmont School is built. The present fairgrounds was 1st host to a Floyd County 4-H Fair in 1953. The Floyd County 4-H Fairgrounds was leased from Floyd County to the Floyd County 4-H Corporation Board until 2067.
The Floyd County 4-H Corporation Board is a group of volunteers responsible for the operation and upkeep of the Fairgrounds. It is comprised of 12 volunteers and 1 paid part-time employee. A legal Not-For-Profit organization, the Floyd County 4-H Corporation Board applies for grants, accepts donations, and sponsors fundraisers to take care of the property, its needs and provide a place for the Floyd County 4-H Youth and the community to entertain educational events.
The Floyd County 4-H Fair is the largest opportunity for the Floyd County 4-H Corporation Board to raise funds.
How to help. The Floyd County 4-H Fair is one of a few true 4-H Fairs in the state of Indiana. The 4-H Fair does not receive county funding.

The 4-H Fair week is a week of a variety of activities and events. The Floyd County 4-H’rs come to the fair and display their projects for the week. Projects, the 4-H’rs display in Newlin Hall, have been worked on throughout the year. Once submitted the projects are judged and displayed for the public to view. Animal projects are brought to the barns were the 4-H’rs feed and care for them throughout the week. The 4-H Fair is host to numerous animal shows where the 4-H’rs are judged on their own knowledge of their animal species, the animal is also judged for conformation.
